1940 Ford Deluxe Fordor Street Road Sedan
On the 1940 Ford Deluxe Fordor Street Road Sedan inspected, the restoration was started in. 1998 and completed in 2005. A new GM engine was bought and installed by the owner and a helper in 2005. No recent major work done on this 1940 Ford.Bob Drake fuel tank is utilized. Aluminum intake manifold was mounted. Edelbrock air cleaner filter assembly. Elite finned valve covers are mounted. There is an under hood detailed, painted, including decals, show status appearance package as per photographs. A new Walker radiator with a transmission cooler was installed. Flex fan is mounted for high air volume. Very good condition hoses and belts. Vintage Air brand heater system is in place. Optima battery is rear trunk mounted. Vintage electric wiper kit is utilized. New spark plug wires and chrome wire loom in the past. Bosch Quartz headlamps. Painless custom design fuse and panel box have been installed. HEI GM point less electronic ignition distributor. Stewart Warner (Wings) gauges with a Billet Mr. 40 special dash insert panel.A new exhaust system was installed in the past. Rebuilt GM700R4 transmission. 2400 stall torque converter is mounted. B&M shift kit is installed. The differential was rebuilt and has a 9” Ford posi-traction with a rear axle ratio of 3.90:1. Major brake work has been completed. The original drum brake system was converted to desirable and safety upgraded front disc brake type. Corvette 7-inch brake booster and master cylinder.Front springs installed are Durant Monoleaf. MacGyver rear suspension kit was installed. The suspension was lowered 2” for that sleek, lo-rider look. Flaming River Vega steering box along with Borgeson steering joints. Paint and body work were completed in 1999. Done by Shane of Special Effects in Edmonton, Alberta. This was a frame off restoration, done the way it should be. Frame members were sandblasted, stripped and Endura painted. The components were acid dipped.Original body panels are still in good condition. New metal rocker panels. Floor pans have been replaced. The trunk floor has been repaired as required. Some new metal was installed where required. Body and fenders, etc. were O.T.O. rubberized undercoated and then painted Endura Black. New grille bars. Major chrome plating done and polishing of the stainless trim was done. Rubber weather stripping is in as-new condition. Interior and area was professionally reupholstered by Arlo for $4,000 plus.I am the 2nd. Registered owner of this car since new, the crate engine is a GM ZZ4 355 H.P. small block. New NOS steering wheel is in place. The trunk liner and mat are in as-new condition. Apparently owner has over $85,000 invested.
