1982 Moselle Roadster with a 5-liter Ford 302 EFI V8, C4 automatic with A/C, PS, PB and AM/FM cassette. This is not a kit car but built by Moselle Coach Works in California from 1980 to 1983. Inspired by the 1928 Mercedes Benz SS. Made of heavy duty fiberglass on a Ford Courier truck platform using a mixture of Ford and Mazda parts. The car is 17 feet long with a 137” wheel base and weighs 3,100 lbs.
It is rare car in total numbers as only a couple hundred were ever built and very rare in having a V8 as most Moselle’s came with a Ford 2.3-liter 4 cylinder. This particular car built for a Canadian. The car was driven for almost 9 years then stored for 32 years from 1991 to 2023. It has only 13,800 kms. on the odometer.
These cars sold for $37,500 U.S. in 1982 which is equal to over $118,000 U.S. in today’s dollars. They convertible roadsters were owned by celebrities and sold by California Specialty Cars.
This car has been thoroughly inspected and now has many new parts, upgrades and brand new radial tires. It has lots of power and is great fun to drive. It handles very well. However, you may find it strange at first driving and sitting over 11 feet behind the front bumper.
