This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible is powered by a replacement 340ci V8 mated with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in silver and purple over a matching interior. Features include a power-operated convertible top, a Holley Sniper EFI system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, electronic ignition, a Sure-Grip rear differential, Hotchkis Sport suspension, power steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, 17″ American Racing wheels, a Hurst shifter, Doug’s headers, and a dual exhaust system with Pypes mufflers. This Barracuda was repainted in two-tone Argent Silver and Plum Crazy under previous ownership.
Features include a power-operated black convertible top, 340-S hood spears, chrome bumpers, split grilles, a polished fuel cap, and a fender-mounted antenna. Chrome 17″ American Racing wheels were installed in 2021 and mounted with Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The car is equipped with a Borgeson power steering box and Hotchkis Sport suspension shock absorbers and sway bars. Braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood calipers over drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that have been reupholstered in gray vinyl with purple accent stripes. Equipment includes a center console, a Hurst shifter, lap belts, rubber floor mats, and a Holley Sniper EFI touchscreen controller. The wiring harnesses, dashboard, and instrumentation were replaced in 2021. The right kick panel and seat back material are loose and the heater and radio are inoperable. The three-spoke steering wheel is equipped with a Plymouth horn button and frames a Rallye-style 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a multifunction gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 10k miles, total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 340ci V8 has been fitted with a Holley Sniper EFI system, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Mallory electronic ignition, MSD ignition wires, Doug’s headers, finned Mopar Performance valve covers, and an aluminum radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an A833 four-speed manual transmission and a Sure-Grip differential. The dual exhaust system features Pypes mufflers and exits at the rear axle.
