1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE

This is a beautiful, Rare, (only approx 550 were factory painted – Willow Green) “Baby Bird”.
The engine tag confirms the Willow Green exterior paint colour, and Green/green interior
with white trim.
This Thunderbird has travelled only 116,000 miles. Many were racked up by summer
travels to California by the original owner. The car was built in Dearborn, Michigan in May, 1957.
The current owner purchased this car in 2002 (mileage 99,500) from the estate of the original owner who lived in White Rock BC. He purchased the car new in 1958 from Fogg Motors of New Westminster, BC. (The original purchase documents are to be included with all the other documents – maintenance, trophies, the original Owner’s Hand Book, and T-Bird collectibles. (upon the sale.)

This Thunderbird comes with a 312 Special V-8, Y block, 8 cylinder overhead valve engine.
Ford-o-Matic Automatic Transmission with floor-mounted locking button shift selector –
2 speed -Low and Drive range.
Master-Glide Power Steering.
Telescopic Lifeguard Steering wheel (17” dia.) with (very loud horn) chrome horn ring,
length is adjustable for driver comfort.
Power Lift windows – both sides can be operated on the driver’s side and the passenger can operate their side for their comfort.
Windshield side wings (manual).

This top needs a full restoration.
Tonneau cover kit – white – never installed.

Tires and Wheels: Set 4 new tires with 1/2 inch white walls – 2011.
Wheels -5 steel rims with original Willow green paint – spare tire older but good condition.
Spare tire fits in the large trunk- in wheel well
The original plastic water bottle for the windshield washer is in the engine compartment.
Dual exhaust system -through the rear bumper.
Battery – new 2021
Chrome side mirror
Fender Shields – rear- 2 – “Skirts” original.
The Chrome is all original – not re-chromed.
Old photos indicate that the car was repainted with Ford factory paint – Willow Green and the
undercarriage was sprayed with black undercoating. Some time in the 70’s.
Mechanical:
Engine History – Motor original – Starts readily with the original key and
runs great with that nice V8 rumble.
