1950’s Style Bonneville Salt Flats Racer
The chassis is beautifully tig welded and the aluminum body is mounted, however, all the sections are not on the car in the pics as it is still in the building process.
Some facts.: The car is located in Kelowna – I will assist in shipping anywhere
*It races in the Lakester category.
*It will accept a big block Chevy engine
*The body is 450 U.S. Gallon bomber aircraft fuel tank. It has the original U.S. Army serial number plate attached.
*It is a rear steer, front wheel drive, with a built in articulating tail rudder, like – but much smaller than a 2 seater Cessna aircraft. The rudder is yet to be made but the mechanical s for it are finished, it is not visible as it comes up through the body at the rear.
*The front axle is vintage so it can also qualify in the Flathed category .
*It has a spool and 31 spline axles that are full floating (to meet the technical requirements)
*The wheel base is 16 feet long and overall roughly 18 feet.
*The wheels are new and two tires are new.
*The transmission is a rebuilt Chevy Power glide
*The overdrive is machinist made using GM Power glide planetary gear sets.
*There is a new driveshaft.
*The drivers compartment aluminum sheet metal work is complete as is the steering.
*New disc brakes on the rear are finished but none of the front yet.
*There is $13,000.00 dollars invested in the car at this point and the hard work is done.
*Comes with a 2 inch binder with many, but certainly not all of the parts the builder (Mr. Beebe) purchased for the car.
*The chassis alone cost $5,500.00
* Hundreds of hours of labor have been put into this car and the really hard work is done.
